I look back at 2018, and as far back as 1973. My life and career in art and gaming, my travels both professional and fannish, and at least one moderately embarrassing photograph.
I did not expect to make it to Gen Con 50 until David Reid of MetaArcade asked me to reconsider going. Now I will be there (Booth 509) with a new painting to show, alongside MetaArcade and Flying Buffalo. Hope to see you there!

Faces intrigue me. A magical evening with friends offered insight into why. I am known for my well-depicted characters, but could I be mildly faceblind at the same time?
Attending Illuxcon IX brought astoundingly fine art, amazingly fine friends, and a whole new way of thinking about pretty much everything.
This is the story of someone who really got the picture: how it came to be, how it unfolded itself into reality, and how you could be the next.
I’ve taken a leap of faith and returned to full time freelancing. The view is pretty wonderful from up here, at least for now.
The dogs will have kibble for the immediate foreseeable future. And no bunnies died either… Hurrah!
